Before you meet us
Back up your photos and messages to iCloud or your computer, then sign out of your Apple ID so Find My iPhone is turned off. Once that's done, you can erase the phone under Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone. We can't buy a phone that is still locked to someone's Apple ID, so this step matters.

Protecting your privacy before you sell
Your data is yours, so please clear it before we meet.
