Privacy Policy

Vilicus Electronics is a small, local business that buys and sells pre-owned electronics across Toronto and the GTA. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

When you call or text us, we receive your phone number and whatever you choose to tell us about the device you're selling or buying — its model, storage, condition and how to reach you. If you meet us in person, we may briefly note details of the transaction, such as the device serial number and the agreed price, for our own records.

How we use it

We use this information only to give you a quote, arrange meetups, complete purchases and sales, and keep basic records of our transactions. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone, and we don't run marketing email lists.

What we don't do

We never display private details from our inventory records — such as serial numbers or purchase amounts — on this website. Our online listings only show the model, storage, condition and price of devices we're selling.

Device data

When you sell us a device, you're responsible for clearing it first: back up what you want to keep, sign out of your accounts, and reset the device using its own settings. We don't perform data transfers or wipes, so nothing you leave on the device is copied or stored by us — please don't leave anything on it you wouldn't want the next owner to see.

Third-party services

This website relies on a few third-party services: Google Maps and Google review embeds (governed by Google's own privacy policy), links to our social media pages, and a live inventory feed. Texting or calling us uses your regular phone service. Each of those providers may collect its own data when you use them — see their respective privacy policies for details.

Retention

We keep transaction records only as long as we reasonably need them for accounting and reference purposes. Text and call history stays on your device and ours, as with any normal conversation.
